1. Let’s Know
The first thing that you have to do to write a blog is know about some of the things but what do you need to know before writing your blog?
You need to know about your Tone and Target Audience.
It’s very important to know what’s your tone. And who is your Target Audience?
Because if you don’t know your tone and you don’t write your blog using it, then you can’t get the benefits of making a genuine connection with your reader and creating the unique identity that makes you different from others.
Just think about Zomato; it has a humorous and quirky tone.
So, because of its unique tone, people are genuinely connected with Zomato and it has a unique identity that makes it different from it’s competitors.
Factors to Know Your Tone!
- What’s your core value?
- Industry nature
- Competitor tone
- Experiment and Adapt
Let’s think that your Industry is Health-related, Industry nature is concerned, and your competitor tone is also concerned.
So, you can also decide concerned/we care tone for yourself with different styles you can use casual and informal styles with tone.
Just experiment and see what happens.
If you don’t find out who is your target audience then you can be confused about the content and what content should you share because you don’t know for whom you’re writing it.
But by knowing your audience you can improve your content because now you know who read your blogs and you can upgrade and level up your content according to them.
You can also get better engagement because you are communicating with your one type of audience.
So, that you can create more personalized content and user experience for them.
Answer these Questions to know your Target Audience!
2. Primary Keyword
In the second step, you need to do some things, and finding your primary Keyword is one of them.
Your Primary Keyword will be your main keyword.
You can use KW finder and SEM rush to find your keyword. Try to find and use the Long Tail Keyword as your primary keyword of the blog.
LSI Keywords
Also use LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) Keywords.
LSI keywords are those which are different in words but same in meaning with your primary keyword.
LSI keywords help Google to know the niche and relevant audience for your particular blog.
Let’s take an example to make you understand better:- Just Assume that you’re writing a blog on sports shoes.
So, if you’re using LSI Keywords such as Athlete shoes and running shoes there could be more LSI keywords related to sports shoes.
Then Google will show your blog to the people who will search the keywords that you used as LSI Keywords in your blog.
If we talk about the above example then if people would search about Running shoes or athlete shoes Google can also rank your blog for these Keywords as well.
Because the intention of people is not to just get running shoes or athlete shoes but also sports shoes.
To get LSI keywords you can use LSI keyword generator platforms just Google about it and you will get many of them and use whatever you want.
3). Tittle
I think you have heard this a lot ‘Never Judge a book by its cover and I agree with this statement we should know the complete thing before start judging.
But in content game I don’t think it works.
To win the content game your content should be good and cover of content as well.
What is the cover of the content? The video cover is the title and thumbnail and for the blog, it is featured images and Titles.
So, in this step, I am going to talk about the title and how can you make it better.
Use this formula = Magical words + Your Keywords + Emotional/Powerful words.
Some Magical Words:-
- How to_________
- 7 Tips for_________
- 10 Reasons why _________
- Ultimate Guide __________
- Top 10___________
Emotional + Powerful Words:-
- Latest
- Quick
- Easy
- Rare
- Profit
(You can do a little research to know about more magical and emotional/powerful words)
Some ready-made title templates that you can use
- Number Awesome _________ You must try
- Number ________ Things you need to know before it’s late
- How to unlock the power of ____________?
(You can use specific numbers like 5 and 7 where I have mentioned ‘Number’ in the template)
Make sure your title is attractive enough to grab the attention of your target audience.
It should talk about the benefits of your target audience.
4. Create an Outline
In the third step you need to create an outline for your blog, just write the Intro and headings of the Body and then the Conclusion.
Now you might think why do I need to create an outline? I can directly start writing a blog which will also save me time.
If you don’t create an outline before writing a blog and directly start writing it then you will be clueless, you will start with a blank page which is not good to start.
But if you create an outline first and then start writing a blog it will be helpful for you because you will have some content before writing a blog and you will not start with a blank page.
With an outline, you will take less time to write a blog because what you’ve to write for intro and conclusion you have already done that in your outline and also the heading points of the body.
5. Introduction
In this step, you have to write the Intro for your blog.
It is one of the most important elements of the blog because people will see it first and if they are interested in it they’ll read more otherwise not.
So, how can you write an effective Intro? To write an effective introduction follow the 4 points given Below.
1. Problem / Desire
In the opening talk about the problem or desire of your reader or target audience who will read your blog.
Try to add a burning problem or a strong desire of a reader in the opening lines.
2. Explain problem / Desire
Now explain how that problem is not letting readers achieve results. Or explain how will they feel once they achieve their desire.
3. Your blog
Now tell them how your blog is going to solve their problem or make them achieve their desire.
4. Transition
In the last of the intro make a transition to the body where the reader will get the solution.
Now, I have told you how you can write an intro for your blog but I think you want some ways that you can use to write the opening of your Intro.
I don’t know whether you want those ways or not but I want to give you. So, the ways are Given Below:-
Imagine – Use imagine in the opening of your intro. You can use it when you want the reader to think about the Desire.
For Example = ‘Imagine that you have achieved the traffic of 10,000 people monthly to your blogs. It’s not just about imagination but you can make it reality as well.’
Question – Ask a question at the start of the intro as I also did in this blog.
For example = Do you want to get a ton of traffic to your blog per month?
Stat – You can use stat for the opening line of your intro.
For example = Know 95% of Beginner bloggers make this common mistake which is also the reason for not getting the traffic that they deserve.
Anecdote – It means your personal experience that you can use for the opening of your intro.
For example = I made this common blogging mistake for 3 years that wasted a lot of my hard work and effort.
So, these are some ways that you can use to write the opening lines of your intro.
You can observe the content of others to get more ways to write the opening lines of your intro.
6. Body
The body is the most important element of a blog because it’s a place where you give the content and solutions that you promised to your reader in the Intro.
You should use different headings h1, h2, and h3 in the body and the whole blog as well.
Your h1 heading would be the only one for your title but other than this you can have the same heading multiple times.
Use images and infographics where needed. You can use Canva to create them, just like I do.
You can use different images for each point as I did in this blog that you’re reading right now.
And if you think that you can use some more images or infographics to make your audience understand better then you can do it.
But the size of images and infographics should not be more than 100kb and also don’t add images without any need.
Don’t make big and lengthy paragraphs and break them into small ones because that is more good and easy to read.
Also do text formatting that mean make some words and sentences italic, bold, and highlighted with different colors as I have done.
7. Conclusion
In the last heading or point of a blog that is the conclusion try to tell people what the benefit they get after reading your blog.
And for this don’t use the simple, old heading that is ‘conclusion’ only.
But try to use something different, out of the box, and unique that your target audience wouldn’t see before or if seen so not too many times.
You can take help from ChatGPT for this but I would suggest you make some changes in that AI-generated response.
At the end of the conclusion, you can give any CTA like ‘If you like the post, type like in the comment’.
Also, try to add any line for personal touch.
8. Secret Tip
